Koh Samui
Songkran on Koh Samui
Thai New Year, water celebrations and an island in a festive mood.
What to expect
Songkran falls on 13–15 April. It combines Thai New Year traditions with lively water celebrations. Chaweng is a natural starting point for visitors who want an energetic island stay, while temples offer a different side of the holiday.
Plan your evening
The holiday window is known; the detailed public programme for Chaweng in 2027 is not yet confirmed here. Protect your phone and travel documents and plan your check-in around busy streets.
Check the event’s exact venue and return transport. Chaweng events are on our island, but not every Samui venue is within walking distance.
